Chief Operating Officer for Organizational Advancement

Beth Lakier is the Chief Operating Officer for Organizational Advancement at Be Strong Families.  Beth has a long history of working with Be Strong Families, including working with them when she was at One Hope United to pilot Parent Cafés in child welfare, joining the Be Strong Families board for a period of time, and working on the Vitality Cafés.  Beth has always been impressed with the impact Be Strong has on all families with whom they connect.

In her most recent role at an Organization, Beth was the COO of Chicago Commons and responsible for program operations at Chicago Commons.   This included oversight of the Senior Care Department (Adult Day Services and Home Care), and the Early Childhood Department (four directly operated early childhood centers, community partner agencies, and four agencies that reported to Chicago Commons as subrecipient of a Head Start grant.).

Ms. Lakier also held the position of Executive Vice President for Child Development and Early Learning at One Hope United.  She had oversight of the agency’s twelve child development programs, and the Healthy Families, Doula, Wings, and Success by Six Home Based Programs.  Ms. Lakier has a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in Early Childhood and Adolescence Development and a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago, School of Social Services Administration.  Ms. Lakier has worked as a manager in the early childhood field since May 1993.

Work Life balance is important, and when not at work you can find Beth with friends on the lakefront biking, running and swimming, or grilling with her husband and enjoying family time.

“Family means someone who is always there and loves you unconditionally.  Family has cried with you, laughed with you and at the end of the day is always full of LOVE!   Family is always first in my heart. ”
