If you’re in town to support someone running in The Louisiana Marathon, we’ve got you covered with places to visit before, during and after the race. With so much to explore, you are bound to find plenty to do in the Capital City to fill your weekend. 

Saturday, January 14

TOWNE CENTER AT CEDAR LODGE

11:00 a.m. – When you roll into town, get your trip started with a stop at Towne Center, which offers a wide array of stores ranging from fashion, health and beauty, as well as many great places to dine. 

PARTY TIME

2:00 p.m. – With a wide variety of party and celebration supplies available, Party Time is the perfect spot to pick up some markers and poster board to make signs for cheering on your runner. 

BISTRO BYRONZ

6:00 p.m. - Join your runner for a delectable dinner filled with classic Louisiana cuisine at Bistro Byronz.

Sunday, January 15

THIRD STREET PARKING GARAGE 

6:00 a.m. – Street parking is often available Downtown, but may start to fill up as the start of the race draws near. We recommend finding a spot in the Third Street Garage, located at 201 N Third St., before you head to the starting line.

STARTING LINE (N FOURTH STREET)

7:00 a.m. – Watch the start of the race from Fourth Street where the runners will take off. Make sure to get there about 45 minutes early to get the best view of the action!

THE VINTAGE BATON ROUGE

8:00 a.m. – Watching others run can be exhausting – grab a coffee or some breakfast at The Vintage on the corner of Third and Laurel St. to add a little pep to your step. 

LOUISIANA MARATHON ROUTE

11:00 am – There are plenty of drink and small bite options that’ll fill you up and get you ready to race back to your spot along the route! A few spots are The Big Squeezy (3043 Perkins Rd.), Cocha and Milford’s on Third.

FINISH LINE (N FOURTH STREET)

12:00 p.m. – Congratulate your runner on finishing their race. Meet them at the finish line to take pictures and enjoy the Finish Fest!

BREW HA-HA!

2:00 p.m. – When the race is over, grab a mid-day treat at Brew Ha-Ha! to celebrate! With a variety of sweet treats and drink items sure to meet everyone’s post-marathon cravings. 

Mid City Artisans

3:00 p.m. – Stop by Mid City Artisans to find locally-inspired gifts, souvenirs and artwork handcrafted by local artisans! You’re sure to find the perfect memento to bring home among the shelves of trinkets and sundries.

ROUJ CREOLE

4:30 p.m. – End the day the Louisiana way with some traditional creole dishes at Rouj Creole. At this local spot, you can enjoy classic dishes such as crab cakes and chargrilled oysters.
