Each year we look forward to welcoming both new and returning runners for the Louisiana Marathon. If you’re in town for the first time or just looking for something new to explore, we’ve got your guide to the Capital City for your race weekend. 

 

Saturday, January 14

 

RAISING CANE'S RIVER CENTER

10:00 a.m. – Start your morning in Downtown Baton Rouge and pick up your pre-race packet at the Raising Cane's River Center Ballroom. The packet has everything you’ll need to run the race on Sunday, but you can also stock up on race essentials from the on-site Louisiana Marathon retail store.

 

THE JAMBALAYA SHOPPE

12:00 p.m. – Enjoy a bit of carbo-loading at The Jambalaya Shoppe with some classic Louisiana cuisine! This spot is a crowd-pleaser for all and sure to be a great kickstart for your pre-marathon meals. We, of course, recommend a big bowl of jambalaya to hit the spot as you gear up for the big race.

 

VARSITY SPORTS

2:00 p.m. – Whether you’re treating yourself to some new running gear or picking up last-minute items for the race, you’ll want to visit Varsity Sports and browse their wide selection.

 

MILFORD WAMPOLD MEMORIAL PARK

3:00 p.m. – Get a workout in before race day by running on this scenic trail and familiarizing yourself with part of the Marathon’s route. 

 

BISTRO BYRONZ

6:00 p.m. – Every successful marathon begins with getting proper nourishment and rest the night before! Prep for the big race with a wide selection of delicious salads, soups and other Southern favorites at Bistro Byronz.

 

 

Sunday, January 15

 

THIRD STREET PARKING GARAGE 

5:00 a.m. – If you're driving, park at the Third Street Garage, located at 201 N Third St. While street parking is often available in the mornings downtown, this parking garage is a great option for runners making their way to the starting line.

 

AZ YOUNG PARK

6:00 a.m – Head over to AZ Young Park to pick up your race day packet. Grab it early and ensure you have everything you need before the race begins. 

 

STARTING LINE (N FOURTH STREET)

7:00 a.m. – On your marks, get set... GO! Let the Louisiana Marathon officially begin!

 

LOUISIANA MARATHON ROUTE

9:00 a.m. – Keep running! You’re doing great. Just think of how delicious your post-race food and drinks are going to taste.

 

FINISH LINE (N FOURTH STREET)

12:00 p.m. – You did it! Take a breather and don’t forget to pick up your medal and head to the Finish Fest at AZ Young Park. 

 

THE BIG SQUEEZY

2:00 p.m. – Celebrate with friends and family and grab a bite and begin your recovery. The Big Squeezy offers a variety of organic “farm to bottle” juices alongside healthy smoothies and bowls to get your body the nutrients you need after a successful race. 

 

THE EMPORIUM SIGNATURE SPA

4:00 p.m. – Unwind after the race with a massage and spa session. This is the perfect way to relieve tension in your body after a strenuous workout, and you’ll walk out feeling so rested and refreshed, you might just be ready to run another marathon.
